CycloDS Evolution Firmware v1.4 has been released and is available for download from the support page. Changes in this release include:
17.6.2008 The latest hardware version of CycloDS Evolution which is shipped with firmware version v1.32, is not compatible with previous firmwares (i.e. v1.31 or earlier). Some users have tried downgrading to a previous firmware release, which will fail. We will soon release a new firmware version v1.4 which has additional features and is compatible with the new CycloDS Evolution hardware. It has also come to our attention that some CycloDS Evolution card readers are incompatible with some MicroSD cards. Should you have a reader with this issue, you may request a replacement immediately from your retailer.

We're pleased to greet our users during the festive season with a very special new firmware. We'd like to thank all of our users for their patience and understanding whilst we've been working on the new release! Some of you may be wondering why we have held off from making a major release for considerable time. In short, we've been chiseling away at a new feature which we're sure many will love and find increasingly useful as times goes by. RealTime Save is now a reality for the CycloDS Evolution, thanks to many hours of hard work and testing. It's by no means perfect yet, but as always, we'll continue to strive for perfection and user satisfaction. However, it's here and works well, so we feel that it's time to treat CycloDS Evolution owners to some advanced functionality and reward their patience. General compatibility with many titles has now been enhanced too, building on our already extensive foundations. These changes are available as part of the CycloDS Evolution v1.3 BETA firmware release which is available for download from the support page. Please note that this is a BETA release, so be sure to read the included documentation thoroughly before using. Now on to other news, many will undoubtedly be pleased to learn that the first shipments of the black CycloDS Evolution are now on their way to retailers, and customers should receive their orders in the first few days of the new year! So you may now order Evolution in black or white from your retailer. We will be posting pictures of the black soon for those that are interested to see how it looks. Seasons greetings to all!

Due to the huge demand for CycloDS Evolution, we regretfully announce that the second batch has already sold out. Production for the next batch is underway, and we expect to resume shipping in 2-3 weeks. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause. 11.8.2007 Shipments of the CycloDS Evolution are now on the way to our main distributor. First shipments are for the white version only, and black should follow in the next three to four weeks. Retailers will receive their stock by mid next week. The CycloDS Evolution sticker design has been revamped to a more fitting design in light of requests on our forums. Please continue to give feedback on what you'd like to see us add or change! 23.7.2007 Due to unprecedented demand for the CycloDS Evolution, retailers have sold out and we’re in the process of manufacturing a large batch to keep up with demand. The next batch of CycloDS Evolution will be available in about ten days from now. We’re also pleased to announce that starting with the next batch the case colour will be available in either black or white. 24.6.2007 CycloDS Evolution Firmware v1.13 has been release and is available for download from the support page. This update fixes a CRITICAL bug, and it is strongly recommended that all CycloDS Evolution customers install this update immediately! Changes for this release include:

UPDATE: The CycloDS Evolution product documentation as well as a special version of Moonshell have been made available for download here. 6.6.2007 Today heralds the unveiling of CycloDS Evolution’s surprise hardware feature – support for MicroSDHC memory cards! MicroSDHC (SD High Capacity) is the new standard for compact flash memory cards which offers far greater capacity than traditional MicroSD memory cards. Whilst the maximum capacity supported by traditional MicroSD is a mere 2gigabytes, MicroSDHC supports up to a mammoth 32gigabytes. CycloDS Evolution breaks the memory capacity barrier by being first NDS flash cart to implement support for MicroSDHC cards. Furthermore, MicroSDHC cards are not backwards compatible so any device not designed specifically to support MicroSDHC will not be able to take advantage of these new high capacity cards. Given that SDHC is a new technology, you may be wondering what the importance of the new generation’s cards will be now and in the future. We all know that flash memory prices tumble quickly, and that’s why it’s imperative to buy a flash cart which supports the new SDHC standard. Whilst 2GB cards have been the staple diet of users for the last few months, the pricing has plummeted. This trend will move over to larger size cards, which means that 4 GB cards may end up having the same pricing of 2GB cards in a few months. If the flash cart you choose does not support SDHC then you’ll be stuck with purchasing 2 GB or smaller memory devices. This means in the end poor value for money. Given the great success of NDS and its ever expanding library of titles, memory storage value for money becomes ever more important as your list of favourites grows by the week. Having several SD cards becomes a nuisance and very impractical. MicroSDHC cards are currently available as 4GB for now, with higher capacity cards expected in the near future. 5.6.2007 Team Cyclops are proud to announce that the first batch of CycloDS Evolution has been shipped to our main distributor today. Resellers will start receiving their stocks on Friday 8th June. Mass production is en course and will continue to fulfill the huge demand for CycloDS Evolution. As a special surprise for those who placed trust in us and committed a preorder for the Evolution, all of you will be glad to hear that a special feature has been implemented in our hardware which no other Slot 1 device currently has. Details of our mammoth feature will be unveiled on Wednesday. On a final note, all reviewers can expect to receive their samples at the end of this week and during early next week. 14.5.2007 Today we’d like to report some additional information about the CycloDS Evolution and CycloDS products. First of all, the highly anticipated CycloDS Evolution will reach resellers in about 14 days from now. The recommended retail price is US$54.99 or EUR€42. Now for some additional information on the CycloDS Evolution. We are currently working on a feature where CycloDS Micro and Mini can be used as a slot 2 expansion pack for the CycloDS Evolution. This will allow you to both run GBA format and use the Opera Web Browser (which normally requires a separate RAM expansion pack). The GBA format WILL NOT require patching; this will be handed by the CycloDS Evolution OS automatically. The CycloDS Micro and Mini are already available. The CycloDS Evolution and Mini or Micro combination will prove invaluable to users because you’ll be able to run software with all the advanced features provided by CycloDS Evolution. 12.5.2007 TeamCyclops are pleased to announce the completion of the CyclopsDS Evolution, the most advanced media enhancer currently available for NDS!
